A lack of talent is a key barrier to growth for tech companies in BC. At the same time, the majority of health tech companies in BC have fewer than 5 employees. Small companies frequently require employees to take on many roles, often well outside of their specific field of training. This requires a far broader skillset than developed in traditional graduate programs.

Digital Health Circle strives to address this need through our training program. Digital Health Circle connects with industry and community partners to provide experiential learning opportunities, including paid internships, mentorship, workshops and courses. Guest lectures and invited speakers connect students with academic and industry leaders.

Training emphasizes co-creation processes and the methods for engaging stakeholders in designing solutions. Key objectives of Digital Health Circle are supporting diverse students to enter the health tech field and connecting students to diverse populations to understand their needs.

We assist students in developing industry-relevant skills beyond their traditional training, preparing students to be leaders in the health tech industry and impact the health and well being of people in BC and beyond.
